    1. The name for having a fear of long words is hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. Ironic isn’t it? It is unlikely that this 15-syllable contrivance is ever used purely for its meaning. The term sesquipedaliophobia is recognized in formal writing, while the four-syllable phrase “fear of long words” is certainly worth considering 🙂
    2. The word four has four letters. In the English language there is no other number whose number of letters is equal to its value.
    3. almost is the longest word in the English language with all the letters in alphabetical order.
    4. The word lethologica describes the state of not being able to remember the word you want.
    5. The sentence The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. uses every letter in the English language.
    6. Sixth sick sheik’s sixth sheep’s sick is said to be the toughest tongue twister in the English language.
    7. Long ago, clans would burn down your house to get rid of you without killing you. The phrase You’re fired came from this.
